This is an example of an early San Francisco Renaissance handbill from “The Poetry Center,” dated January, 1959. It features George Stanley and Joanne Kyger, who are two of my favorite poets of that era. Again, many years go, I was fortunate enough to correspond with George Stanley about his life and some of his poetry. I will go into greater detail of those discussions when I present the slide of one of his poems, “Teenybopper is our new born king.”
